Supporting Heart Heroes for children living with congenital heart conditions

Heart Heroes is a local and national charity, who support over 1000 families with children living with congenital heart disease and other heart defects. Their goal is for children and their siblings to be included in the specialist activities and events they offer to encourage peer support and inclusivity.

The charity run hubs across  many regions from Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Oxford, Bristol, Devon, Cornwall and North and South Wales, and it seems to be growing even more as families need this support in their area.

For Heart Heroes to be inclusive and support disadvantaged families that may not otherwise be able to benefit from their support, it was essential for them to have some kind of transport to assist these families.

Currently 12% of the families Heart Heroes support in Gloucestershire alone, do not have access to transport and with the current climate, they are fearful of using public transport to attend activities and hospital appointments, particularly if their child is immunosuppressed, which is quite often the case.

So when Kelly, Founder of Heart Heroes approached, Nikki our Head of Business Relations, and explained that they were in need of a charity minibus and what difference it can make, we were honored to be able to support this initiative and sponsor the vehicle along with other Gloucestershire Businesses.

“Thanks to the generosity of Elmrep and other local companies in sponsoring our minibus, we can continue to support even more disadvantaged families around Gloucestershire and beyond. We will forever be grateful for their support and as Heart Heroes continues to grow across the UK and Wales. Your support really has made a positive difference to many families, thank you!” – Kelly Cornish – Founder of Heart Heroes

“I am pleased we can support Heart Heroes again and we have now been supporting their minibus for the past two years. They continuously offer various methods of support to each family and I have seen for myself the smile they have on their faces and the connection they have with Kelly Cornish (Founder). I admire the passion and commitment Kelly has for the charity and the families – the difference the charity makes is invaluable and this is why I will continue to support their work in anyway I can” – Lee Summers – Managing Director – Elmrep
