After hearing about the important work that local charity Sunflowers Suicide Support provide within our community, the Elmrep team chose to participate in the Gloucester 10k run in June organised by Gloucester Quays Rotary Club.
Sunflowers is a valuable organisation that offers support to individuals bereaved and affected by suicide in Gloucestershire. Their suicide liaison service provides both practical and emotional support to those in need.
Additionally, Sunflowers plays a crucial role by offering suicide intervention training, which can help educate individuals on how to recognise warning signs and intervene effectively to prevent suicide. By supporting Sunflowers and participating in the 10k run, the Elmrep team contributed to the important work of this charity and raising awareness about suicide prevention and support.
The efforts of Jake, Tim, Sophie, and Chloe from Tayntons Solicitors in completing the 10k run despite the challenging conditions and raising £375 for Sunflowers are commendable. The Sunshine Boxes provided by Sunflowers as part of their Liaison work are a wonderful initiative to help individuals cope with their loss and honour the memory of their loved ones.
Such initiatives not only help raise funds for Sunflowers but also provide an opportunity to bring attention to the issue of suicide and mental health within the community.
